The Magic of the Dragonfly

I love this time of year in the Northeast because this is when the dragonflies start to come out in droves, and it always reminds me of the beginning of my awakening.

I've always been connected to spirit—but through fear.

Seeing scary things. Having experiences I couldn't explain. Feeling things that didn't make sense.

But it was during the summer of 2023 that I started to connect on a deeper level to what was happening around me. I began to see the magic in it rather than the fear, and that changed my perspective on everything.

One of the things that presented itself during that time was the magical dragonfly.

How the Dragonflies Found Me

As a single mom doing all the housework, the chores, and the outside tasks, I always had music blaring in my ears. I always had something distracting me.

But during that period, my headphones started to seem like they were constantly glitching. It became more annoying to have them in than to not.

Then one day, I realized I was starting to sense when the dragonflies would show up based on those glitches.

Now looking back on it, were they summoning me, or was I summoning them?

Chicken or the egg, you know?

But at the end of the day, it was the energy of the dragonflies that helped me truly start to see the magic in nature once more and tap into it on a different level.

I had never noticed dragonflies before.

And I use the word notice because I know they've been around forever. I know they existed in all the places I've lived.

Yet somehow, I had never noticed them until that summer.

Why?

Herein lies the magic of the dragonfly.

The Dragonfly as a Higher-Dimensional Messenger and their Spiritual Meaning

Higher-dimensional energies come through to support us in magical ways.

The further removed they are from their true form, the more supportive and foundational they can appear in their physical manifestation within our reality.

Think about Gaia.

Her energy. Her consciousness. Sophia—the Mother of All and this reality itself—manifests as Earth. The flora. The fauna. All aspects of her. Yes, including us.

Your awareness of energy is a lot like dragonflies. It begins to appear when you start remembering the magic of the dragon energies—those energies that flow through you and animate you.

Dragon energy is more differentiated than Gaia's consciousness. More individualized in its representation. Because dragon energy fractalized from Source—Sophia Christos—and therefore, coming into form, it carries slightly more differentiation and individualized consciousness than the flora kingdom.

Yet it still functions collectively.

These are collective energies that we are working with when we work with dragonflies and dragons.

Remembering Who You Are

As we begin to see dragonflies appearing in our experience, we are reconnecting with a different aspect of the dragon energy that animates us.

It helps us reconnect with our higher-dimensional origins and our multidimensional self.

The dragonfly becomes a reminder...a signal that there is more to this reality than what we can physically see.

The Pink Dragonfly

Do the colors mean something?

Yes. Absolutely. And they'll present to you exactly as they should.

I remember sitting on a bench having coffee on an awkward first date with someone who was trying to convince me about polyamory.

The entire time I was thinking, "God, what am I doing here?"

Then a small pink dragonfly—yes, I said pink—landed directly on my thigh.

The man looked at me and said, "Whoa, do you see that?"

I said, "Yeah, I do."

And stupid me, at the time, took it as a sign that maybe this was somehow a legitimate thing.

But deep down, I knew it wasn't.

I knew the message was something else entirely.

It was a reminder to focus on myself.

To focus on what felt right for me.

Not what somebody else was telling me.

Funny enough, I now have a bright pink scar in that exact same spot where that dragonfly landed. The scar came from a broken toilet I had to fix in my house—another moment where I was given the opportunity to see just how capable I was of taking care of my family without the assistance of the masculine.

Actually, let's stay with that for a moment.......................

That pink dragonfly was a reminder to honor myself.

And now I have a scar that serves as a permanent reminder of my confidence, my ability, and my strength.

Anytime I stray from that understanding of who I am, I am brought back to myself once more.

What Do Different Dragonfly Colors Mean?

I can give you the breakdown as Spirit hands it to me, but with everything, you must trust that it is your experience that will truly allow you to decipher these codes. The spiritual meaning of the Dragonfly rests in your interpretation.

Black Dragonflies

Black dragonflies remind you of your connection to magic, your discernment of truth, and the mystical nature of your reality.

They encourage deeper trust in the unseen.

They may also appear for you when you are going through great change and require energetic support to stand in your power. In fact, you may even interpret other colored dragonflies as black because you are at a stage when this will be the most potent 'magic' you need to support you at the time.

Purple Dragonflies

Purple dragonflies are presenting themselves to open your mind and help you see through the lens of your higher self. A representation of your connection to the higher dimensions.

They activate creativity that emerges from truth and a substantive connection to Source.

They guide you and act as symbols that you are on the right path.

Blue Green Dragonflies

Blue and green dragonflies ignite within you the path of your true frequency.

They activate heart-centered awareness. They help you become more authentic and guide you toward greater alignment with yourself.

Compassion and passion. Love and courage.

By honoring these energies, you are connecting more deeply to the energy of the Mother and your direct knowing of her.

Golden Dragonflies

Golden dragonflies are incredibly rare and special.

These tend to be angelic representations of the Golden Dragon frequency that ignites within those who carry it a remembrance of truth.

Seeing these often occurs when someone is deeply contemplating who they are, struggling with doubt, or wrestling with profound questions about the meaning of life.

Golden dragonflies also appear during major periods of rebirth.

They come forward for individuals who are stepping onto a path of true creatorship within their lives.

Spirit Speaks in a Million Ways

As I was dictating this article, I looked up and saw a blue heron smack in the middle, slapping me across the face to accentuate the point that had just been made...

The magic never stops.

Spirit is always speaking.

The dragonfly doesn't just show up as an insect.

It can appear as a painting.

A vision.

A tattoo.

A photograph.

A video.

A tarot card.

Or the image that interrupts your Instagram scroll.

There are a million ways to receive Spirit.

Don't discredit any of them. Learn to trust your intuition. Learn to connect to the energy of the dragonfly and understand the awakening dragon energy that lies beneath it.
